Duration

Goal of this exercise is improving

  • spatial orientation

  • spatial imagination

  • Self-awareness

Performing a motor action with eyes closed requires "listening within" and improves imagination and self-awareness.

Instructions

A target will initially be set at a distance of about 2-3 m, then further away. The child closes their eyes and should then run as precisely as possible towards this target.

”Observe the position of the target, then close your eyes. Then walk to that target as precisely as possible."

Variants

  1. In addition, place an obstacle (or several) along the way that you need to avoid.

  2. Spin in a circle before you start running.

  3. Balance a ball on a spoon as you walk.

Tips
Closing the eyes can be applied to a wide range of activities. Since many movements can be performed automatically, visual control is not absolutely necessary.
