  • Non-verbal communication

This exercise enables even rather shy pupils to tell something about themselves and at the same time to hide behind fiction. In general, it is intended to encourage the listening students not to rush through the mutual assessment. Who knows what is actually true? Are there non-verbal signals when the narrator begins to cheat?.

Instructions

  1. The children sit in a circle facing each other.

  2. Each participant in turn tells three facts and one lie about themselves.

  3. The lie should not be exaggerated, but believable. The facts and the lie should be told in any order without revealing which of them is false and which is true.

  4. As soon as all four statements are made, the other players have to guess which one is a lie..

Tips
In general, it should encourage the listening students not to be too hasty in judging each other. Who knows what is actually true? Are there non-verbal signals when the teller starts to fib?
