Category

Social behaviourGroup dynamics/team building

Group size

SMALL GROUPS

Materials

1 boiled egg (or a small ball that is not too light!), 1 pair of scissors, 1 A4 sheet of paper, 1 A3 sheet of paper, 1 balloon, 2 strips of Tesakrepp tape of 10 m each, 1 piece of string (35-40 cm), a cardboard strip (5x30 cm). Also possible: natural materials! (anything you can find - twigs, leaves, blades of grass,....)

Duration

50 minutes

Level

3️⃣

Goal of this exercise is to improve

  • joint problem solving

  • creativity

  • concentration

The children learn to work together to solve a task, they learn to articulate and listen carefully, to compromise and then to make "something" out of "nothing". They have to coordinate with the group, otherwise the exercise will not work and the machine will not be finished.

Instructions

The task is to build an "egg flying machine" from materials provided.

After about 30 minutes, the built machines will be tested!

The winner will be the group whose egg has remained intact after flying as long as possible.

Variations

Of course, the egg can also be replaced by a small ball - but make sure that it is not too light! Table tennis balls are not suitable!
