  • of hand-eye coordination

Throwing an object up and catching it requires good spatial orientation and good hand-eye coordination, both of which are also important for cognitive development.

Instruction

A ball is to be thrown up and caught again. The thrower should move, either sideways or turn.

“Throw a ball up and catch it again. While the ball is in the air, take a step forward, backward, left, or right.”

Variants

  1. Throw the ball up with one hand and catch it with the other hand.

  2. While the ball is in the air, clap one or more times.

  3. While the ball is in the air, turn halfway around yourself

  4. While the ball is in the air, do a full rotation

Tips
Due to your own movement, you have to plan well ahead, reorient yourself when catching, and react quickly. You can always try to increase that.
