Goal of this exercise is improving
-
conscious perception of breathing
-
interaction between muscles
-
posture
Children learn to breathe, calm down, relax. Practising sitting up straight and breathing deeply and gently will help you to be less tense in speaking situations
Instructions
Everyone stands upright, some distance apart, and breathes calmly and deeply through the diaphragm. As you breathe in, very gently raise your arms to the side. As you exhale, lower your arms again. This happens without any effort, just by breathing.
The exercise allows a sensual experience of how much energy is in the pure breath. The breath can be used consciously to achieve something. In this case, it is important to give children time to engage with themselves.
