A strong emphasis in this exercise is the effect of stress on nouns and pause on the listener. Children recognise the need for punctuation marks in order to interpret texts correctly

Instructions

The teacher writes the following sentence on the board and asks the question:

How many possible statements can we find?

Example:  I am sorry I love you 

  1. I am sorry, I love you.

  2. I am sorry  I love you 

  3. I love you, I am sorry 

  4. I love you. I am sorry
