Darkened glasses or cloth to blindfold the eyes

10 minutes (for multiple passes)

Goal of this exercise is improving

  • the perception of auditory information

  • the conversion into spatial perception

  • foreground-background hearing

The exercise requires a high concentration of attention and confidence.

Instructions

A child leaves the room. The other children briefly rearrange chairs and tables. The waiting child is blindfolded by the teacher.

A second child remains at the door and now leads the 'blind' child around the room with the help of instructions. But only in whispers.

This requires a high level of attention as it is not easy to understand what is being whispered. The rest of the group must remain absolutely still.
