Goal of this exercise is improving
the perception of prosodic markings in speech
the contour exercises - the conscious use of sentence melody to show one's intentions.
The children recognise the effect of the pause for the listener.
Instructions
The children look for short reports from the newspaper. They read the text and then narrate it in pathetic language. They place strong emphasis and make particularly effective pauses.
