This exercise is for leading and following. As rhythm training, the exercise promotes responsiveness and interaction with the respective "pre-drummer".

Instructions

The children sit in a circle. They have drums or percussion instruments.

Rhythms are pre-drummed by the teacher. The teacher starts with very simple time signatures and rhythms. The length and complexity is increased.

The task is to imitate the rhythm.

Variations

This exercise is very suitable as an "intermediate exercise" to loosen up, but also as an exercise to focus and increase concentration. Then it is done without instruments and only with body percussion.
