Group size

SMALL GROUPS CLASS

Duration

5 minutes

Level

1️⃣

Goal of this exercise is improving

  • directed attention

  • consciously controlled processes

  • auditory and visual perception

  • the social aspect of eye contact

Children learn to respond to auditory instructions through visual perception and physical "response".

Instructions

Children line up in a circle. The teacher alternately says:

  • "Up!" and "Down!". ("Down!"). On "Down!" ("Down!") all players look at the floor.

  • At "Up!", everyone looks straight ahead at eye level, especially in the direction of another child in the group.

  • If the eyes of two players meet in exactly this way, i.e. they look at each other, then they have solved the task and are allowed to sit down. Play continues until only one or two players remain.

Tips
With the help of this concentration game, children should learn to react to each other and look each other in the eye.
